How to Set Up Company Profile and Branding
Tell your CRM who your business is: its name, tax id, address and currency, plus your logo and your accent color.
Two pages in Settings hold your business identity. Company Profile holds the details of your business, and Branding holds your logo and the color of your workspace. This guide walks through both, in that order.
In this article
- Open Company ProfileOpen Settings and choose Company Profile. If you do not see it, your role does not include it, so ask an admin. When everything is filled in, a badge reading Profile complete appears next to the title.
- Read what you can doUntil the profile is complete, a panel called What you can do sits at the top. It says You can use the full CRM, and then tells you whether you can send quotations with your letterhead and whether you can show your tax id on your documents. When something is missing, it says what, with a link called Fill it in that takes you to the right place on the page.
- Enter the namesType the Company Name; it is required, and the page says so if you leave it empty. Add the Legal Name as it is registered. If you leave the Legal Name empty, it defaults to the Company Name. Above the names is a small logo picture with a link, Manage logo in Branding, which opens the Branding page.
- Add the tax idThe label of the tax id field follows your workspace's market, and for some markets there is a second id field next to it. Type the number. The page checks the format only; it is not a confirmation with the tax authority. If you clear the field and save, the id is deactivated, never deleted.
- Add the addressFill in the Address, the City, the State and the Postal Code, and check the Country. Where the market has a list of states, State is a list to pick from. Where it does not, the page says that there is no state list for this country and asks you to type your state or region.
- Check the currencyUnder Currency and Locale, the Country is shown and cannot be changed here. Choose the Currency from the list. The page explains that every amount in your workspace is shown in this currency, and that changing it does not convert existing amounts; it only changes how new ones are entered and labeled.
- Add contact detailsUnder Contact, add a Phone, an Email and a Website.
- SaveChoose Save at the bottom. The button reads Saving while it works, and the word Saved appears beside it for a moment. If the profile cannot be saved, the page says so in red above the button and gives the reason when it has one.
- Open BrandingOpen Settings and choose Branding. The page is titled Branding and says Customize your workspace logo and accent color.
- Upload a logoIn the Logo card, choose Upload logo and pick a file. The note under the button says PNG, JPG, or SVG, and Max 2MB. While the file goes up, the button reads Uploading. A picture of the logo then replaces the small building icon. If the upload fails, the reason appears under the button.
- Choose an accent colorIn the Accent color card, choose one of four round swatches: Blue, Green, Red or Purple. The one you chose gets a dark ring.
- Save brandingChoose Save branding. The button stays off until a swatch is chosen. When the change is saved the word Saved appears, and the new color is applied at once, without reloading the page. If it fails, the page says Failed to save.
A few things worth knowing
The Locale and Formatting card on Company Profile only shows your market, currency, time zone and a sample of how amounts and dates will look. The page says these were set from your market at signup and cannot be edited there; you contact support to change them.
The tax id label, the second id and the list of states all follow the market of your workspace, so the page can look a little different from one workspace to another. After your business details are in, the guide on inviting a teammate shows how to bring your colleagues in, and the guide on creating a custom role shows how to decide what each of them can do. If you are new, Getting started is the place to begin.
